Chickens need many vitamins for good health including vitamin A,D,E,K, Thiamin, Riboflavin, and Niacin.
Vitimin D and E are important in folate health and egg production in hens.
In young chickens a vitamin deficency results in reduced weight gain and feed intake, along with poor feathering and nervous disorders.
Vitamin A deficiency presents as a number of different clinical manifestations from xeophthalmia (dry eye) , uropygial gland infection, impaired growth, and increased susceptibility to severe infections.
